You all, I am so excited to be able to provide you with the opportunity to win a $1,000 Stitch Fix gift card this month! Keep reading for more details!
Last month’s (November) Fix was pretty much a total bust for me, and with the craziness of a vacation and Thanksgiving, I didn’t put together a review. But I am back at it now and hope to make up for it with the $1,000 gift card giveaway.
If you are not familiar with Stitch Fix, it is an online personal styling service that sends you 5 hand-picked clothing and/or accessory items each time you request a “Fix”. You pay a $20 styling fee, but if you end up keeping anything from the Fix, the $20 gets applied to that. It’s so easy to sign up, just go online, fill out your sizes, style preference and budget. You can also link a Pinterest board to your account so that the stylist can get a better sense for your tastes. Shipping is always free and you return anything you do not want to keep in a handy return bag they provide.

As Christmas is approaching soon, I have been thinking, what better Christmas gift than the gift of stress-free style? So many of my friends and coworkers love this service or could definitely benefit from it. I typically don’t like to get gift cards as presents, but with Stitch Fix, what they get is still personalized and unique to them. In just the short year that I have been receiving this service, I have also seen Stitch Fix grow to include shoes, maternity and now even Men’s! I believe Plus sizes are coming out next year as well. If you are interested in giving the gift of Stitch Fix to your friends/family, just click on the banner below and it will take you right there. These gift cards are so easy to give even last minute.
This month I asked for a couple of trends: distressed jeans, plaid, and puffer vest. Kaley came through with ALL THREE! This is a first for me. Typically stylists haven’t been able to find appropriate stock for my ultra-specific requests, but not so this time.
My husband threw out my handy packing slip before I had time to jot down the names and prices of all the items, so I am trying to go off of memory and what I can find online. Please bear with me…
Papermoon – Dauwens Crewneck Blouse – XS ($48)
I saw this top in a fellow Stitch Fix blogger’s November review and immediately pinned it to my Pinterest board. I love the color and the pattern on this. Three-quarter length sleeves are perfect for fall/winter here in San Diego. I paired it with the black distressed skinny jeans that I also received in this fix as well as my Vince Camuto sandals.
The top fit well and was a no-brainer for me.
Pistola High Rise Black Distressed Jean – 2 ($68)
This picture is a bit deceiving. The jeans looks awesome here! They were perfectly distressed for my taste and BLACK! I didn’t even ask for black, but I am missing black jeans from my wardrobe. These could have been amazing, but sizing must run smaller for the Pistola brand because I could barely button these (or maybe I gained a bit of weight from my Maui vacation) 🙁
Even though Stitch Fix allows you to exchange, I wasn’t sure that the next size up would fit, so I just sent these packing.
Plaid Button-Down Cotton Shirt – XS
Here Kaley granted me another one of my trend requests: the plaid button-down shirt. I have been admiring these on Pinterest lately. Even though I rarely find a button-down that looks good on me, I decided to try the trend. The shirt she sent had very classic colors. It looked really good with my olive utility vest, distressed blue jeans, and rugged brown booties.
Again sizing was the main issue. I would have preferred a little more length on the shirt as it rode up above my waistline when I lifted my arms. There was even gaping between some buttons in the front, and that is not something that typically happens with me and my modest bust.
Blue Lace Shoulder Detail Sweater – XS ($54)
This dark blue sweater was another ideal piece for the upcoming winter. It is super cozy and soft, and I love the extra detail of the lace on the shoulders and the notched V-neck.
Plaid Puffer Vest – XS ($78)
My third and last trend item was a plaid puffer vest. While being extremely comfortable and fitting well, this was not what I had in mind. I had asked for plaid for the button-down shirt, but when I asked for a puffer vest, I was thinking more of a solid/neutral color like gray or navy. To me, the plaid on this vest was just too much. I also don’t have any lighter color tops that would work well underneath it.
All in all, I consider this box to be a success as I came away with 2 great fall/winter tops.
