Has this happened to any of you?
I have dreams of a simple lifestyle (where I visualize myself in the picture above in my head). But I am not there yet, so I have to figure out a plan to get from point A to point B. For me this plan is all about building up multiple income streams that do not involve me going to a corporate job from 9 to 5 so that I can have the time to focus on family and sustainable living. Well, I quickly became overwhelmed! I was trying to grow this blog as well as start another business AND take on a 15 hour per week side hustle! I was adding to my garden and planting fruit trees AND raising two young children! Top it all off with the fact that my day job was actually getting busier and more stressful.
Talk about NOT simple. This is what my life looks more like…
So I sort of shut down. I haven’t touched Amber Burst since early December, but it’s been calling to me lately. Maybe it was the winter blues and now that spring is here I am wanting to get back outside and breathe new life into this. But more than that, my calling toward a simple and sustainable living is not going anywhere. Amid all the hectic stresses of life, I still find joy in the natural rhythms of life.
I know that you all are as interested in simple living as I am. We’ve got an amazing Pinterest board going and I am still getting contacted about my prior posts. I am strengthened by the fact that we are in this together. Our society and culture does not make this easy for us.
So let me know what topics you are yearning to dive into as I am feeling that renewed energy to take these on and write about them.
- Building a home orchard?
- New learnings in the home garden?
- Chores for young children?
- Uses for essential oils?
Until next post (which will definitely be sooner than another 5 months)!
